Trying to get update on state of refund for flights cancelled April 2-4. Booked thru OPODO but flight with Loganair. Have received e mail saying refund or voucher request has been accepted. But now the phone number is seemingly dis continued ! On line I have been told (virtual agent) my booking is confirmed but no request has been made for refund. Keeps going round in circles.

Firstly I contacted Opodo via telephone within three days of my departure as soon as Etihad cancelled the outbound flight, as their instruction at the time, and was disconnected without speaking to anyone. Later the same day I spoke to one of their operatives, told them Etihad had contacted me to say the flight had been cancelled and request my money back, and when on hold I was disconnected by the operative again. I complained about their customer service the following day via email, and at the same time requested a full cash refund.
I rang again and after holding for over an hour due to being transferred from one person to another, I was told my refund request would be confirmed or denied within three days. Technically, I'm still waiting for that confirmation.
I also received an email regarding my customer service complaint, and was also told that "We would like to inform you that we have received your refund request and we are currently treating your case accordingly. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible." This email came through the same day I should have departed, but more importantly I had written proof Opodo said they would request a refund from the airline.
I rang the number I'd used previously after a month of no contact and found, like yourself, it is discontinued. I have received numerous emails from Opodo encouraging me to click on the link provided "to obtain your voucher for you, if you agree, as soon as it becomes available. To give your consent to this complimentary service, simply click I AGREE below." Obviously I've been disregarding these emails, I want a refund not a voucher.
So to get to the crooks of your problem (I realise I'm partially sharing my experience of Opodo's abysmal customer service, rather than helping) you need to log into your online account and select 'Cancel.'
You'll then be asked to complete some details and then be asked do you want vouchers or a refund. I selected refund, and then clicked the button 'Cancel/Request Refund.' Whenever I log into my account now, my Refund Status is listed as "Requested" on 27 May.
There appears to be no other record of my refund request being accepted by Opodo via email, and my account was not updated at the time. I did pay by credit card, and am contemplating using Section 75 to reclaim my money, but I'm fortunate that I'm in a situation where it is urgently needed to cover other costs and outgoings, so am armed with the correspondence and information I have just in case I need it to claim my Section 75 should this be prolonged for too long.0 -

On the ‘Manage my Booking’ section of the Opodo website my flight refund has been listed as ‘requested’ since 04 April with no update, no change, no email.
Frankly I have no faith that Opodo are trying to carry out refunds. I conducted a chargeback with my Amex CC and received funds within a week.0 -
Im in the same boat - have a flight cancelled to Nepal - phoned twice yesterday 27 and 38 minutes wait each time - advisor guaranteed I wouldn't be cut off again!!! Wouldn't escalate. I was happy to accept a voucher as knew my travel would need to be rebooked as soon as flights available for next year - and they are like now - can't afford to rebook without my refund, nor can I afford to lose my money - what with them an a cheaper break with Ryanair - really bugs me and don't know what to do.

I've not been able to see anything on sites such as MSE and Which that state that you cant use a S75 against travel agents. There's a lovely article warning of the dangers of third party payment processors on MSE, but that's relating to paying via Sage, Worldpay etc.0 -
Chargeback is either from the date of transaction or date the service is to be provided. (so in your case the date of the flight)
IF you buy a package from a TA then you are covered, but flight only, the TA is classed as a 3rd party.
The Ombudsman ruled that is "unfair" for this to be allowed, but a court has ruled it is legal and it is allowed.
So with a S75 it could be hit or miss, whereas a Chargeback is allowed and is quicker.

my booking reference is 4855259466 and you confirmed I would have a voucher which I need urgently as my passport is running out on the 24th August 2020 and I need to travel back to Guernsey to get it renewed.
No one answers your phone I have sent emails that have returned and now I am trying this forum, please provide the voucher so I can book a ticket.
Thank you

I had similar problem. Airline said Opodo would refund. Opodo won't answer anything. Credit card issued full refund after a good long wait.0
