Babys surname - legally where do we stand?
Comments

You can call your child anything you like. It sounds as if you are getting pressure from each and everywhere about babys surname, but at the end of the day - do as you please! Its between you and BF really. BF can be on the birth certificate and baby can have either or both surnames.
OH and I had our first before we were married and gave baby his surname. When we married, I double barrelled his name and my maiden name, so even after marriage I have a different surname from the kids and hubby. And to aliviate fears, it has caused NO problems whatsoever, before and after marriage.
And as far as I was concerned (like donna-j) the kids are his too and I have never had a problem with their names.0
