Is British Gas X website genuine?

I started a switch 3 weeks ago to British gas via MSE and after hearing nothing I now have a text with a !!!!!! telling me I still have time to provide an opening meter reading (this is the first communication I have had) and when I click on the link it takes me to www.britishgasx.co.uk.  When I clicked on Chat apparently British Gas customer service don't even know about this part of the business so before I put any details in, is this genuine or have my details been compromised?

It's all straightforward just a separate business so it's not surprising that CS don't know about it

I can confirm the website, https://www.britishgasx.co.uk/ ,is a genuine site owned and operated by British Gas.

Perhaps the reason BG CS are unable to advise you about it is because, as it states on the website:
