NEC e616v recovery mode - please help!
My wife has a very old NEC e616v phone which doesn't boot properly - it always gets stuck at the logo. It's got some really important photos of her daughter that I'm trying to get off.
I finally got hold of a second e616v so I now have a battery and a charger which is working, but can't for the life of me figure out a way to get back into the phone.
I don't want to factory reset, but I'm really hoping the recovery mode might give me some options as to how I can get the photos off.
I've googled around a bit and not found the critical key combination needed to enter recovery mode. I've tried the standard combinations (like holding volume up or down while turning on)
Any ideas gratefully received!
Thanks
Bob

Doubt very much if recovery will be of use as its a standard update or wipe recovery .

Are the photos saved on the phone or on the SIM. If on the SIM, then just putting that into the new phone ought to enable you to access them.

Thanks both for the thoughts - I know that recovery mode menu is a long shot, but the photos are stored on the phone's internal memory and so I'm really hoping that there's an option available that might help me get past the logo hang. I haven't been able to find what options are available in the recovery mode but yes, if it only offers update or wipe then it may not be helpful. I'm keen to check it out though. In particular, there appears to be a "wipe cache partition" option which I'm hopeful will help - www.devicesfaq.com/en/reset/nec-e616 (Note that this particular website has omitted the crucial step 2 for how to enter recovery mode!)
