I’d stick a hose in it and fill it to the top with water.

Skips have holes in the bottom else they'd fill up with rainwater. The OP would just flood his own lawn and cause more damage to the grass than is already being done.

In the good old money saving tradition.

    Sell it.

It on your land, you didnt order it, treat it as a gift.

Call a few recycling companies, or the local travelling community.

Couple of angle grinders and it will soon fit in the back of a van, and you will be a few quid up.

Assuming this was done in your absence, how did you know which neighbour to approach? Assume aggressive neighbour did admit it was theirs?
Yes aggresive neighbour admitted it was theirs, says it will be gone by wednesday, additionally they're traversing up & down dumping stuff in it. Reported to the plod after thinking about it as i felt the neighbour was unduly aggressive & acted in a threatening manner by constantly trying to approach me with their finger jabbing in my direction whilst i kept stepping backward. They will come round tomorrow apparently
Well that one phone call has probably wiped 1000s off the price of your home.
I think you only have to declare disputes logged with local authority?plus the neighbour is 4 doors away so not an immediate problem.

Lets hope it doesn't become a long running dispute where the police use the local council to facilitate mediation.

Order a skip yourself and have it placed on his drive.

The "good old money saving tradition" doesn't normally mean advising someone to do something that could end up with them getting a criminal record for theft.
Just because the OP didn't order the skip doesn't mean that they have free rein to do as they wish with it.

    How is it theft?

    Goods abandoned on his land.

Its the equivalent of fly tipping.

He as the landowner is responsible for removing said items from his land.

He is free to choose method of removal.

    A civil matter if anything.

I would go back and tell them in no uncertain terms that they are to have the skip removed and that you will not be allowing them access on to your property to remove it.
A bit of a problem with what you suggest.
How can they have the skip removed if they are not allowed access to the property to remove it?
Bit it a brain fart - the last sentence should have said “to use it”.

Though perhaps not a good idea if you’re on a meter!
