So are Staysure and Trailfinders the best to look into for travel insurance now for newly booked holidays?  Have just booked Madrid for a weekend away end of July.

I have an annual policy which was renewed in April. There is no mention of covid on the policy. There is (an always was) a clause about epidemics, but I understand that this is a pandemic not an epidemic.
No idea if I am covered or not?

TUI have now announced that they are covering it on all their bookings for the rest of the year

  • Hi all,, new to this but would like to know what i can do,,,
booked a holiday with on the beach for 7th april 2020 and ive not had any money returned after requesting a refund,, at first otb said ryan air was stalling on paying out refunds,, so i contacted ryan air and they said that they payed OTB on the 24th june which is 4 weeks ago,, so i messaged OTB and since then they have ignored all my messages about them having been paid out in full by ryan air.. its 14 weeks since my holiday was due and its very frustrating not being able to get a refund when i know they have the money,, is there any thing i can do ? Thanks
  • Staysure has just advised me they are not providing cancellation cover if FCO or WHO advise not to travel due to Covid 19, so if the country or region you are travelling to has a local lockdown, including UK, you will not get any cancellation cover. Even applies to annual policy taken out last year unless you foresaw this pandemic coming.

All MSE's recomended travel insurance companies cover Covid19 cancellations. But they all exclude medical cover if you travel when FCO advises against all but essential foreign travel. We need to go to France asap to visit ageing relatives. This is essential for us, but not for my existing insurance company, apparently. Only need cover re poss hospitalisation bills above the EHIC 80% . Any suggestions?
I've just bought a policy from Battleface that covers the usual medical/repatriation stuff.  Wasn't fussed about cancellation cover anyway, just anything serious happening medical-wise. £151 for 4 of us for 2 weeks in Mallorca, so cheaper than losing my car hire money etc! Plus, I'm going mad staring at these walls after 4 months...

  • Hi there, I am currently stuck in the Amazon in Peru with health conditions that appeared during the pandemic (not corona related). My insurance with the co-op runs out in a week and there are no international flights in sight. Are there any insurances offering cover right now for people stuck abroad with health problems? in case of an accident? or any health related reason to return home? Many thanks
  • Amazing Article,Really useful information to all So, I hope you will share more information to be check and share here.thanks for sharing .

  • Thank you, that is very helpful!
  • Advice please. Paid a deposit on a ski holiday and t&c said they would pay full refund if holiday couldn't go ahead because of covid. Balance is now due on 20th but they are changing the t&c to if we pay balance & covid prevents us from travelling we lose our holiday & have to claim through travel insurance. Can holiday companies just change t&c?
