Unable to renew passport

just to respond to this thread with an update.
i sent off to renew my passport on 1 June 2020, did the renewal application online and did the digital photo upload. Paid for recorded delivery and I have today received my brand spanking new passport In the post. Excellent service. It is the old burgundy colour though, was hoping for an exciting blue one 🙄2 -

As soon as I started reading I was going to ask what colour, but you beat me too it.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.
