Sunshine Scammers

  • If you search for:

2 X RECLINING SUN LOUNGER OUTDOOR GARDEN FOLDING ZERO GRAVITY CHAIR ADJUSTABLE

there are loads of them. These kind of scams have been going on for years, given eBay likely foots the bill it's surprising they don't care enough to put steps in place to prevent low volume accounts suddenly selling thousands of pounds worth of stuff.

Will at least finally this listing is down.
I love the fact most of these listings you even get 2 and not just 1 .
The other worrying fact is looking at the feedback numbers of all the "scammed buyers" (Assuming correct), there are numerous experienced people being scammed.

What would be the generic response from ebay to customer regarding this scam given that they will obviously get their money back? Surely there are some customers that just won't return to ebay or use ebay less which affects us all as sellers. My partner rarely uses ebay anymore as she has experienced too many issues as a customer. I try and get her to use the site on occasions but she opts for other sites and its sad when I'm a seller on there and try and point out that there are reliable and honest sellers in there.

I was looking on ebay and saw a product (forget what it was) but there was a 3/5 review rating.
When I read the reviews they were for a child's toy cash register.
I coukd understand reusinga 5/5 rating for a completely different product, but a 3/5?
May you find your sister soon Helli.

seems quite popular this scam now, heard a lot about it. I think it's spread around on social media that a seller account has been hacked and they lower the price by about 500%, people think they will get a bargain, or get a refund. every one of my friends who i was talking to all had either tried it or would try it if they saw something they wanted cheap!
I think somehow, theres a chance they could be out of pocket. although hard to see if you are paying by paypal...?

If you pay by Paypal then you won't lose out as a buyer.  The money is diverted from the Paypal account to either another Paypal or bank account and eventually siphoned out.   Paypal are the loser.
