We recognize that some people may ask why we did not provide 100% credits or cash refunds for last season. We capped our credits at 80% because our mountains were open and operating for the majority of the season and our passes could be used during that time.

My pass couldnt be used any earlier in the season, it was for 11 days starting Sunday 5th April, so I couldnt have used it, as they shut the mountain..... And I was due to arrive  in Canada 4th April?? so thats rubbish...

    UPDATE.
Got the money back, via a chargeback through Halifax Mastercard... Ski Independence still have upto 45days to dispute it, however, speaking with HMcard they agree it was a service paid for that was not provided, so I cant see how they could refute my claim, however I do expect they will try...
SI claim it was a non refundable pass, however as mentioned above, I did not cancel, they did. I understand SI have not been refunded by the resort, however that's not my problem...

That’s very interesting....our friend who was coming with us on holiday got turned down by his insurance company for a refund so I think this is the route we may have to go down.
