I love the annual insurance game and TCB. Car insurance renewal arrives, jacked up by £60+ from last year, no thanks!
I use a comparison site to see which insurer is most desperate for new business, I don't always use the absolute cheapest, I use one of the cheaper ones I know is a good cashback payer and a good cashback offer on.
So I end up doing the rounds of about the same 4 usual ones. Obviously I use the comparison site for prices but don't take a policy via them, go through TCB instead.

Hey presto, insurance back under £200 as usual. Despite being maxxed out on NCD for years my insurance has been immune to inflation for many years, always pay well under £200 (two named drivers, extras..)
Topcashback is instrumental in this strategy and has been so for several years.

I packed up with all the cashback business because it was not guaranteed.
    Total waste of time.

With that logic, what's the point of doing the lottery? Or entering any competitions?
I've had cashback denied on 11 transactions out of nearly 1000 transactions - the others have paid in full.

How is that a waste of time? You'd think this wasn't a moneysaving site sometimes with the nonsense replies.

Ah the old chestnut ‘it's not guaranteed’ what a nice get out. That may be so but that does not mean there should not be some regulation/regulator (funded by a levy on cashback firms) to adjudicate dispute as in many cases the cashback offer is going to be the clincher for many in the decision to purchase there should be subject to some consumer protections. Nice  to see the 'I'm alright jack what you complaining about’ brigade' on here when there are quite obvious problems. Hey why doesn't Martin feature no payment of cashbacks on his affiliated 'entertainment' show? Just not positive enough for ‘entertainment’ perhaps he could dress up like he does for other show segments to add ‘humour’. TCB are the worst how they are winning top cashback site all the time is a mystery so must be incentivising positive reviews. TCB seems more akin to a gambling site so ‘when the cashback/fun stops STOP’ ‘Cashback aware’  ‘Cashbackstop’ ‘BeCashbackAware.org’ . To be fair I’ve never had problems with Quidco so if there is choice of cashback offer just use them.

If you'd like a giggle, I used Quidco too - and my decline rate with them is much worse. At a glance, I've had more then 11 transactions declined, with a lot less than 1000 to begin with.

I'll stick with Topcashback thank you, but that was an absolutely A-star rant :)

Use it for something you were going to buy anyway and it's a nice little kickback. £2,000 and counting with TopCashack, I'll carry on thanks.

Its cashback, not a right.  As others have said, I've had the very occasional cashback refused but usually because I took advantage of a price reduction on the retailers site.  I've had hundreds in cashback, and its a good bonus.  But I never assume its always going to go through.  Nice if it does, but yep, its not guaranteed.  It comes in very useful.

Completely don't understand this logic! Surely even a small %age of some free money, is better than none? Of course cashback isn't guaranteed, as it depends upon the transaction tracking correctly (there are steps you can take to maximise correct tracking).

I've had almost £10k of cashback so far. Yes I've had a few declines here and there, and yes that's frustrating. Sometimes when I've queried missing cashback I've had it paid in the end, sometimes I haven't. But at the end of the day, it's all bonus money that you wouldn't have had otherwise.

You can't educate some people, I'd save your breath. Have met many a person who would happily spend a grand to save a quid, or in this case forego all cashback because a tiny % didn't go through.

Nowt as queer as folk, as they say!
