Seperating Credit File from Ex

Hi all, after some advice from you knowledgeable soles.
I separated from my wife some years ago, and the Decree Absolute came through in November 2019.
My ex, before we were legally divorced, undertook an IVA and one of the debts rolled into this agreement was a joint account for £2.5k. Because of bad advice from the IVA firm we ignored the banks chasing letters to myself, I subsequently discovered the IVA only covers one half of the liability in the case of a joint account as the bank accepts the IVA for one half, and then comes after the other half (me) for the full amount still outstanding. The debt was subsequently passed to a debt collection agency and I agreed a repayment scheme with them, and the debt is being repaid.
My questions are:
1. The debt is showing on my credit file with missed payments back in late 2018 /early 2019, which then stopped when it was passed to the collection agency. The account shows against the banks name with "In default" against it. The agency have written to me a few times suggesting a 'settlement offer' (less than the original amount owed) to write the debt off. Is this worth doing, or will leaving it as 'partially satisfied' (as their letter suggests) be worse for my credit file than repaying the full amount?
2.My ex is still showing as 'linked' on my credit file. What can I do to remove this? Do I need to write to the credit agencies stating the divorce and providing proof?
Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance for any advice.

1. It doesn’t matter - it will still be marked as defaulted so the damage is done.2. File a Notice of Disassociation with all 3 CRA’s (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion).0

Thank you - so I might as well take the offer and clear it then.
Will do the Notice of Disassociation letter, thanks for the advice.0 -
You won't be able to file for the notice of disassociation until all joint accounts are closed and settled with £NIL balances0
