Other fibre providers. Are there any options other than BT?

Hi all, I've had FTTP with BT for about two years. The price has gradually increased over time and I'm out of contract. I'd like to look for other providers, at least to help negotiate with BT on a price decrease.
Every time I try to compare providers there are no others that provide fibre broadband to my house! Any thoughts on how I can check whether this is really true or is it all down to BT releasing the line etc?

FTTP is more expensive and doesn't always guarantee you can get access to lots of providers like you would in a more traditional FTTC setup. There's a list of providers here: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/fttp-providers0

Indeed. I'd be surprised if neither A&A nor Zen could quote.0

It’s nothing to do with BT and all to do with the other providers being slow to offer FTTP as a product. The big names like of Sky and TT could have offered it when BT did, but chose not to thereby limiting your choice.0

A bit of searching via Open Reach may well show other providers .But any i have seen for my FTTP have been a higher price .

Been the subject of many posts, there are other FTTP providers using OR infrastructure, apart from BT, so no one is ‘tied’ to BT, but currently the big budget brands don’t have an offering, there has never been anything stopping them, but they chose not to offer FTTP, they keep being rumoured to be about to launch , perhaps they are, but prices haven’t been bandied about.
The OP could look at current alternatives, renegotiate with BT, or move onto a 30 day monthly contract , enabling them to keep their options open in the hope that usual budget brands , when launched , prove to be a cheaper option , offsetting the ‘extra’ payment between BT’s out of contract price and the inside a minimum term with a discount price with BT0 -
OP could possibly drop speed to 80/20 .

I'm in a new housing development on fttp and intend to wander around the local area using a WiFi checking app on my mobile phone to check who everyone else is connected with. When we moved in we were given a flyer from Sky but I didn't follow it up.
At the moment all my adjacent neighbours signals are coming from BT routers so I think I may be stuck with BT when my contract comes to an end in a couple of months time.0 -

OP, if money is tight stick with BT as other ISPs will almost certainly cost more. A BT 40/10 FTTP line can be had for as low as £25/m, depending on your haggling skills. Otherwise wait for a few weeks as Sky & TalkTalk will be launching their Openreach based FTTP services in June.

That explains why I received a renewal letter from BT (renewal Nov 2020) offering to renew at the same price anytime up to November (£32.90 for FTTP 74/20). I have been very happy with the BT service and prices considering the lack of pricing competition available.

What I find frustrating is the compare sights, you enter your postcode and home phone number which "implies" they check your line availability, then list EE, Vodaphone, TT etc, when you then go the isp provide you get "computer says no".
Basically the compare rights are great for vanilla but useless for choc-chip.0
