Hi there! Just got home because I went to see my Nana after work.

Kids are doing really well - they raced yesterday and today, held their own yesterday and both skied really well today. I haven't spoken to DS but DD is, in her own words, so so so so so so so happy! I take it that she has had a good day!

A friend of ours who is out there videod them and sent over a few clips, it was really nice to see them ski but I am missing them loads, so it is rather strange seeing them on a video clip but not in real life.

Mooloo, let us know how you got on with the house!

Financially, we have got to the last week or so of the month and are still solvent - more than we can normally say at this stage of the month! So I am pretty pleased with the way things are going :D Must be something to do with the fact I have no time to spend any money or go anywhere except work :o

Not yet, Seaxwyn! It won't be due until the end of the month, so another tense week to wait!! However, I have been paid finally for the uni work and the invigilating I did before Christmas, so that has been a welcome sum of money. I am still due £100 mystery shopping money which should be here any day, and a couple of other "bits and pieces" of money which will all go straight off the debt.

All in all, quite happy with the way things are going so far! Can't really ask for more than that!

    Nearly 100 pages!

Glad things are going well. I'm amazed we have over £100 left of our food budget for January!

Gemmzie, to have £100 food money left at this point of the month, but particularly January is FAB! :T

If I get paid at the end of the month (don't want to count my chickens or anything) I will hopefully be able to pay a reasonable amount off the debt as an overpayment - not masses, but enough to make me feel good.

I am def going to make this my year.....positive thoughts aplenty at the moment!!

Hypno - just wondering - the £2027.34 paid so far - is that just general or is it forming part of the paying off the family debt #1 ?

Hi Sea, that is the total amount of debt that I have paid off this year (or since whenever the challenge started in December) and includes what I have paid towards the family debt.

The £2200 figure in the family debt bit of the signature is what is remaining - I originally borrowed £3000 and need to have it paid back by Easter. If I get paid next week, then i can pay a couple of hundred pounds off it and get it down below £2000 outstanding which will be a nice psychological boost :j

I'm very glad you are feeling so positive as you had a tough year last year - and even so managed to keep your spirits up most of the time. I am quite sure that this will indeed be your year.

    Hiya Hypno
It's fab to see you doing so well with your debts. Whenever I start to struggle I just need to read your thread to see that anything is possible. I'm working backwards to you at the moment as I have to find six grand to pay for a new roof. Whatever I don't save will end up being borrowed so i'm trying everything I can. Glad the children are having such a fab time. It must make it all worth it.
    Hugs xx
