Radio on iPhone?

So my old phone picked up FM radio whilst I walked in the countryside using the earphone cable as an aerial. DD told me I should upgrade to a smart phone and gave me her old iPhone SE. Now that uses the mobile signal to give me a radio station and keeps cutting out as there is no signal!
So are there any smart phones that receive FM radio?

My Moto G8 Plus also has an FM Radio app installed by default. (Not tried using it as of yet, but it is there).
A quick search online suggests that Iphones have never enabled access to the FM radio. (Older phones had the chip - up to the 6; newer phones don't. I also have a 6S for work and it doesn't have this).1 -
You might be better just buying a separate pocket radio with earphones.Around £10 for an fm one or £30 for DAB, although the DAB signal might not be great in remote places.1

Download the bbc sounds app on the iPhone. You can then scroll through the past 30 days of programming and download for offline listening so no data charges.I highly recommend this way of listening as you can be picky what you listen to and no adverts.1

Thanks everyone, I will download the BBc sounds app and go from there.0

But the sounds app isnt real time fm radio like you were asking about. Its basically a recording of something in a past tense already. So news bulletins will be old news already.knightstyle said:Thanks everyone, I will download the BBc sounds app and go from there.

I think from what I could gather where he walks in the countryside he has internet outage so some of the apps from playstore require internet to run them. He would need an app that could run offline.mobileron said:loads of apps to download for UK radio, just spend some time on google.Try Radiouk online, its in the app store.0 -

The associated Radioplayer app gives you everything that isn’t covered by BBC sounds and works very well on my Apple/Android devices - on a PC, I tend To use the browser-based interface.knightstyle said:Thanks everyone, I will download the BBc sounds app and go from there.0
