As you can see from her website, Sarah has experienced a much-greater-than-normal demand for her products as a result of the original post. She has tried to meet that demand and has worked really hard not to disappoint (including working thro the night). Being self-employed myself, I know that I would be devastated if people weren't happy with something I had done, but I also know that I can't get everything right all the time.

I am absolutely sure that Sarah will put things right for you if you contact her. I have already had her contact me twice over my order so that she can be sure that she gets it right for me. She cares a lot about what she's doing but had to cope with an influx of orders that she wasn't expecting at all. If she had advertised and failed to plan properly, that would be a different scenario.

Let her enjoy her Christmas without worrying about the impact of negative feedback. If you're not happy with her response to your issues then your comments on the forum would be helpful to the rest of us. (From a MSE point of view, they are helpful now, but I know Sarah was looking forward to Xmas and I know it would prey on my mind if it were me). And no, I'm not related to her, I only know her thro this site.

  • mine came today and I will be ordering again. The custard creams look lovely and the mince pies fantastic and will make good presents. The expresso melts were all messy and the tops had come off the bottoms and two with no bean on the top, with little bits loose in the tissue paper. I couldn`t give those as presents but I have one in an electric tart burner and the smell is lovely, although vanilla not expresso or it could be a milky creamy coffee smell. Definitely not an exresso smell though

I understand about the pressure but the wrapping needs attention, particularly for the ones in which there are tops on bottoms as I also had some fruity melts in which the tops are off the bottoms. Generally the tops had slid off the bottoms en route, probably because the tissue paper was too thin and loose

all in all I would say 3/10 for wrapping, 6/10 for scent, 5/10 if I take the designs overall but some are much more durable than others

However, like I said, I WILL order again one more time at least. I noticed a post above re safety labels and I would say that this is a legal must do

Good luck to Sarah. The concept is very good

    Hi Kittie

I'm just burning an espresso one now and it's a lovely smell to be sure. :) Even my OH, who has a dire sense of smell, can smell it! But ours definitely does smell of espresso; it's a gorgeous, dark coffee smell. So much so, we've just had Irish coffees to go along with it. :rotfl:

My mum just got her carrot cake delivered. I think she thought it was real cake lol. When I said take a pic of the candle to send me she said what candle. She said it smells and looks lovely!

  • Hiya all,

I'm really sorry to hear some of you aren't happy with your candles. Please contact me for my address and send them back, I will of course refund you!

On that last posting day I was at the post office with 53 parcels, trying to get them out on time. I do normally put all the candles and melts in tin tie bags with labels but it just wasn't practical, I had stayed up all night on more than one occasion to get things done, so I decided to just get things sent instead of worrying about the bags. I don't know why the tarts didn't smell flipflops, maybe I forgot to put the oil in :/ do they smell at all? Also my sister had to come to help and I tried to oversee everything she did, but again wasn't practical. I was really taken unawares by the huge amount of orders I received, I thought I could cope but I obviously didn't cope very well. I presume it was just that crazy because of Christmas, next year I will try to be more prepared!

Anyway you don't want a huge list of excuses, I'm really sorry you're not happy. Like I said if anyone isn't happy then please return them to me for a refund.

Thanks to those who are happy, giving me the strength to keep going :)

  Oh my goodness Sarah!! My admiration for you has just gone up a thousand fold! You must have been absolutely worn to a frazzle trying to make us all happy!

I don't think you've made excuses, I think you've given very valid reasons as to why things might not have been perfect for everyone. Please don't be disheartened, your products are truly lovely and you're obviously a genuinely nice person. You just got blindsided by the power of MSE! ;):D :rotfl:
  • I haven't ordered yet but I deffo will from all these good comments. I can't wait to order a few different things.

Merry Christmas Sarah. Put your feet up and enjoy the time with your family! xx :A

Love the look of your products and will definitely be placing an order in the New Year.:T Your customer service certainly seems excellent and you seem a really genuinely lovely person too! If business keeps up all year round, you should be able to get some staff in next Christmas and take some of the pressure off you! :D

PS: Any chance of making any products based on liquorice cream rock? My husband has got a bit of a craze on them!
