Cant see point of updating, none of the new features i care about. will stay on 1909 until that is stopped being supported
  • For anyone thinking of downloading version 2004, it is worth reading this page on the Microsoft website. There are reported issues already relating to bluetooth, audio, and display drivers amongst other things which Microsoft are currently investigating.
There is also useful information contained on this page about end of support dates for all previous versions of windows including 1909 which has now just been superceded. The advice of the "teccie" I follow on Youtube is to hang fire until major issues have been sorted.

Having paused my updates following discussion on this thread, I thought I would go and look at the date for resuming and it would have been tomorrow (now extended for another week) but in looking it said that my PC is not in a fit state to be updated to 2004 (what a cheek!)   I clicked on the Further Info link and it was all about 1909!  Eventually I discovered that you can click on the 2004 tab and I saw a ream of issues - none of which would probably affect my machine but I will wait until there are no issues.  Seems that the only reason my machine is not ready is because I have paused updates!

Took the plunge this morning against my better judgement! Three hours later up and running again without problem (so far). Had to reinstall AMD driver in accordance with Windows notification and it has changed one or two of my settings including the search indexer function. I'm not complaining though as this version of the product is now supported for the next 18 months.
Just an update several hours after I posted the above. Experienced my first positive experience with version 2004 after linking my android phone to the desktop. First time I have ever been able to do this either through own incompetence or as I believe to be the case, an improved connectivity built into the update by Microsoft.

I updated the other day ... all seems OK except that it changed some graphics card allocations. (e.g. Trackmania Forever should have been set to use my Nvidia card but had been reset to use the Intel integrated graphics).

Evidently, version 2004 has problems. Of course, it's possible that these won't affect you.  As one of these problems is with nVIDIA drivers and my computer has both an nVIDIA graphics adaptor and card, this could explain why I was unable to install the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

You can always upgrade to an older build of Windows 10:

And then upgrade that to 2004.
