Ok, thanks guys for the responses. Just to be on the safe side, I've notified the DVLA. It's up to them now if they'll be able to determine whether the car is parked illegaly or not.

Right... and what was the danger in NOT reporting it?

Why wouldn't you? The worst that'll happen is they investigate and find it's not on the public highway, so it's an issue for the landowner.
