New Car Not Ordered by Car Dealer - 3 months Delay
Comments
-
You have a good case here because the dealer gave you advise which they knew was wrong. You acted on that advice and now it's going to cost you significant amounts of money.
Thing is you have a duty to minimise costs so it gets complicated. You could go buy a different car. So it's unlikely that you will get a rental for 3 months. Unfortunately the law doesn't really care what you actually want.0 -

So - I repeat - WHAT DO YOU WANT?0 -
I had a chum who ordered a citroen, when the dealer checked the factory schedule they discovered 2 months delivery. so they gave my chum a demonstrator of a different model while the other one was being delivered. So yes he did get a free car.1

I think they have offered the best you can hope for; I ordered a lease car due for delivery in May and they kicked and screamed when i wanted to cancel because they couldn't get the car in time. After much effort, I was able to exit the contract so you've done well to get that offer from the dealership so easily.
They might be able to offer you a free service or something; but a courtesy car for three months is very unlikely. You can either take the reduced spec or walk away.0
