Upcoming changes to furlough scheme

I agree. Sadly there's no real way of adapting to mean we can earn money so we're pretty reliant on the government support schemes. It's annoying because we were doing really well until all of this started! I'll hopefully be able to talk to my boss at some point this week and hopefully get some clarity about what will be possible.Takmon said:If that's true then i can't see how the company can possibly survive unless they can adapt. Social Distancing is realistically going to carry on until at least next year which hopefully by then a vaccine will have been developed and distributed.0 -
Will a gap in someone's furlough period stop them from being furloughed in July? My partner had 3 weeks furlough in April/May, he's back working (from home) now because his employer is sharing out periods of furlough between staff. If he isn't furloughed again by 10th June will he still be able to be put on furlough again in July or August, perhaps part-time? In other words, must someone be furloughed for the three weeks contiguous to the 1st July to have furlough remain open to them until Oct?0

They just need to have been previously furloughed at any point between March - (end of) June, so your partner is already eligible for flexible furlough from July onwards. You don't need to be specifically furloughed again - also, that would be against the rules unless it was necessary.RK040 said:Will a gap in someone's furlough period stop them from being furloughed in July?
