Bought item from Amazon seller. Item broke after 2 months. Advice needed!

I opened a return/refund request which seller has refused as apparently the return period has expired. This is an item which should not break after 2 months use. Is there anything I can do to get a refund? Thanks.

Assuming it is a business seller then the rights here should apply https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange/#must and the item must be as described and last a reasonable amount of time.

Also you can contact Amazon themselves under the AtoZ guarantee as they can step in to assist with issues with third-party sellers https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201889410

Yes, just contact Amazon. I'd recommend going through live chat. They'll either refund you from their own funds or from the seller, but that's not really for you to worry about.

Thanks. I spoke to Amazon as it is actually under 30 days since I bought the object so the seller cannot refuse a refund/return under Amazon's A-Z guarantee although they do have to open an "investigation" apparently in order to get my refund.

I must say I am quite surprised how opaque getting a refund/return is as you basically have to rely on the seller giving you one and if not, ask Amazon to intervene which can be quite complicated (had to do it via their chat feature) as there doesn't seem to be any way of opening a dispute from my end manually. Very different from ebay and paypal.

Just had a cheeky email from the seller saying they will refund me but I have to pay postage costs, so obviously wouldn't be worth me returning this as it is quite heavy and will cost me more than the what I paid. Can Amazon still give me a refund if they find in my favour or will the seller automatically win now they have offered me this "return"? Please advise.

If the goods are faulty they should pay for the postage for you to return it to them
