Zinc Credit Mgt and Vodafone

Received a letter today from Zinc Credit Mgt saying that they have been instructed by Vodafone to assist you in getting the outbound bar on calls lifted. The letter did not quote the mobile number and I have not had a contract with Vodafone for at least 3 years. They are saying that there is debt outstanding of some £251.
This looks like a scam, but in the back of my mind I am questioning this just in case.
I have searched on line and nothing can up in the year, so is this a scam?

Well, Zinc Credit Mgt is a genuine recovery company...
If you had a Voda acc did you close it the right way? ie, if you asked for a PAC did you use it?
Did you tell them you wanted to cancel and get a final bill from them at the end of your minimum?

It was a long time ago, but I seem to recall that a PAC code used (as I have the same mobile number). As far as I am aware a final bill was concluded (but have no records).0

The final bill would have been for a month or just over max, not £251.
I'd suggest that you call Voda and see what they say, they should be able to find your archived acc based on your phone number.

I spent 5 hrs in total today on a chat with Vodafone. In the end they stated it was a system glitch and have reversed the charges.1

I've had this letter too from Zinc re Vodaphone. I have no knowledge of it and they won't give me info without me first divulging more personal data such as my DOB. I don't see why I should have to give them more info than is on the letter! Then another letter has arrived from BPO collections claiming I owe Virgin Media £386, again with no info as to what this relates to. I don't understand why a letter has not been sent from VM if indeed there is something I owe from many months ago prior to switching. I'd appreicate some guidance but also wonder what the big companies are up to? I've never had letters from debt collectors demanding money like this before.0
