The commonality is even more obvious with the booted Logan, which the UK doesn't get.

...and the nice thing about that is that you don't need to worry about being hit up the chuff, because it comes pre-disastered.

We don't get the Dacia Lodgy or the Lada Largus either which is a shame because I'd probably have had one or other.

Dacias are good cheap cars (and unlike rivals they are genuinely cool), but like another poster mentioned, if you are after cheap no-frills motoring, I would be more inclined to get a Kia with 7 year warranty, 4 years longer than a Dacia.

The Largus is just a rebadged old-shape Logan estate, with production moved from Romania to Russia. I suspect it's not sold in the EU because of not meeting Euro6 emissions, and other C&U requirements.

The Lodgy is the same bits as the Sandero/Logan, just slightly taller, and a lot fuglier.

All true, but they also come with 7 seats.

    Completely irrelevant to the OP.

You could probably get a decent family sized car 3 or 4 year old for your £7995 budget.

It's OK saying you're used to the refinement of old !!!!!! boxes, but wait until you do drive something more refined, you'll never go back!

    Fair enough.
    Suzuki Celerio.

    Suzuki Celerio.
Discontinued last August, and even smaller than the Sandogan/Logero twins.

Cheapest Suzuki is the Ignis - smaller than the Dacias, but £5k more.

If you have around 8k to spend I really wouldn’t get too hung up about a brand new car, as others have mentioned a well looked after 2/3 year old car would probably be better than a sandero, something Japanese as these usually have a reputation for reliability, and given your mileage will be around 25k a diesel would suit ( although not a Mazda diesel as these had problems) , if you can find something that has been well looked after then it could be just as good as having a new car with warranty, but of course it’s your cash so it’s up to you..
