Does anybody know if we can turn it off now?
Used to be a profile setting on the old forum but doesn't give me any options on here now.

Not been able to find that either

There is also no option to select messages for deletion, you have to delete them one at a time and can only do that by opening the message first.

Why would you want to turn it off?Sleazy said:Does anybody know if we can turn it off now?0 -
Because many random people send PMs to those they think can answer their questions instead of posting on the board.

Then there's the abusive messages when posters don't like the replies they get.

Blimey, that's surprising. I didn't think you were a controversial poster, _shel? I've never had an abusive PM in 6 years._shel said:

There is quite a lot of abuse flying around by PM.
It used to be that you could turn off all PM except the ones from the forum team.

It used to be that you could ignore posts of selected users except the ones from the forum team. That would mean they were unable to send you a PM,
But that has now been limited to just 100 users, and as many as that new users often register within an hour or two, the limit is woefully inadequate.
I don't even know why MSE has now opted to limit the number of users that someone can ignore. I have it on good authority that the vanillia software does include the option of an unlimited ignore list.
