Hi
can anyone help?
i just moved into a flat and don’t want to pay out for a expensive virgin/sky monthly.
I do want to buy Netflix, and something so I can record programmes from the tv to watch at my convenience.(I know the recording box will cost maybe £200 but it’s a 1 off charge).
At the moment on my free view tv I cant watch many programmes as I have no internet for tv, also bbc 1 and 2 reception is rubbish I can’t watch sometimes even though tv is connected to an Ariel.
So my question is without spending a lot monthly on virgin etc, once I buy Netflix how can I get internet for the tv?.
hope this makes sense? As you can tell I no nothing about tech things.
sharon.

If you're TV doesn't already have internet and the Netflix app, then you can get something like the Amazon Fire stick, as long as your TV has HDMI

Then I don't understand your question.

Your TV already is already internet capable. So as long as your household actually has an internet connection, you are good to go.

Yes thats the normal way of getting internet via an ISP  . You have a BT telephone socket in the flat ?
OR  via Mobile Network  dongle etc if possible for your requirements .

A broadband connection would be a better option, but if you are only wanting temporary access, you can create a hotspot with your phone that your TV can connect to (if you have s smart phone that allows creation of hotspots). Please be careful with your data usage though, as streaming videos can eat though it.

You can get 100Mb Broadband only from Virgin for £28 at the moment on a 12 month contract, as you already have them connected to your property.
