Flights to Scotland

Options
Wondered if anyone knows what happens if I can't go to Scotland, even though they may start flying again. I'm due to go end of June, they have just ammended our flights, so I'm presuming the flight is going ahead. My problem is that my mum is coming with me, she suffers from COPD. She has been given by her doctor a letter for further 12 weeks isolation. Therefore she is not able to go. Plus if she was to go, reading newspapers they will expect every flyer to where a mask, she will not be able too due to her lung condition. I'm not going to cancel any flights and will hold out and hope our flights won't go ahead. Plus the fact, I now don't have anywhere to stay due to hotels being closed. I only booked this as a flight only.

You need to contact your airline, but if they are flying on your date of travel you don't have any automatic right to a refund.  You would simply be considered a no-show.  You may have the added problem of 14 day quarantine when you do arrive in Scotland.

Might be worth asking your travel insurance company, assuming you have cover - travel within the UK is included by most AFAIK.

A 14 day quarantine on a domestic flight? Eh?

Definitely no quarantine within the UK. Have you any insurance policy and if so was Mum's pre-existing COPD declared as if it was you should be able to make a claim on the basis of her medical condition. Although judging by this weekend's antics you would think lockdown was over, you are still only supposed to travel for essential reasons so although if the flight operates you may not be able to get a refund, they may offer a voucher for future travel

Op is a first time poster so I am assuming will not be back to answer any questions/replies?

So apologise if I am wrong?

But if not. OP where are you travelling from? And what restrictions are there in force at the moment in your departure country?

I am assuming from overseas as posted in the Overseas holiday part of the Forum.?
And not in the UK holiday part.?
