Oven repair guys please suggest a replacement oven to fit this unit..

Options
Hi guys

I am hoping somebody can help me here.
I am a landlord of a small house nearby. It was professionally rewired and renovated 3 years ago. ALL appliances were brand new 3 years ago albeit they were budget branded items. The oven is made by a company called CDA/Matrix and the sticker on it says
Model No: MD720SS1.
Rated Voltage 240Vac, 50Hz
Rated Input 4.3KW MAX

It has to be taken account that this oven only cost £250 brand new.
So, it recently went faulty. The tenant told me that the grill was working but the oven underneath wasn’t. Therefore, I went to the property and checked the oven. The clock was set ok. Indeed the grill did work (which would indicate there is power to it). The light inside the oven illuminates fine but the oven fan doesn’t spin and it doesn’t heat up. CDA say it’s out of warranty and they want £100 call out plus parts which would not be far off what it cost new and it needs to be noted that the tenant has not looked after it. Therefore, I Have decided to buy a total new replacement oven but the choice is highly confusing. I went on Google and searched for the item to buy it again but it has been discontinued. I just simply want to go to the property and remove the old oven and slip a new oven in. I can’t see from the front how the oven is wired but there is a socket in the tiny cupboard next to the oven. It has 2 Giant Red switches on it and it appears the oven is on a standard 3 pin plug. In an ideal world I will just swap the oven for a new one but there are lots of terms. So, I’m asking you guys a favour. Seeing as you know the model number and that it is a built under double oven please would you suggest a VERY CHEAP, BUDGET BRAND replacement oven that will fit in the gap this oven is currently sat in. I know people will see that if I buy a cheap budget brand then I am asking for trouble again but it has to be taken into account that the tenants simply do not look after these items anyway. So, to recap... please would you guys suggest an oven (and post a link) to where I can buy a new replacement item that (like the existing) is on a 3 pin plug and has a grill at top and oven at the bottom.
Thanks in advance.

On closer inspection it appears that there is a wire feeding into the bottom of that double sized socket with the 2 red switches on. I’m assuming that the plug (plugged into the 3 pin socket) must be for the gas job ignition??

Take the oven to an independent home appliance repair shop. It is likely it is nothing more than the element failed. They cost around £15, and the labour would likely be less than £25.

If you want a cheap replacement, look for Indesit or Beko - You can get something pretty basic for around £260 that will do the job.

FreeBear that’s great advice and I would love to put something back into the community but I’m stuck thinking I may have to pay a daft ‘call out’ charge etc to ‘repair’ a misused oven ??

Mwarby. Thanks. I was hoping for something closer to £270 if possible.

The model MD720SS1 must be obsolete now as it's not listed anywhere so I could not find its dimensions. It is probably a standard built-in H59.5 x W59.5 size - the width and height being the most critical for a slide in fit.
I had to replace the oven in a buy to let and replaced the no-name unit with a Baumatic BOFMU604X_SS
Built In Electric Single Oven in Stainless Steel from AO. They are around £180 today.
Replacing an entire standard built-in oven is almost a DIY job, assuming the wiring connection is simple and obvious when you pull out the oven, it can be as simple as wiring a plug. I would have got a fitter but none wanted to dispose of the old oven at the same time as installing the new, and for the tenant I had to dispose of the old oven same day.
Also I have previously replaced the elements and lamp in decent ovens that were worth keeping as many spares are available still. There are even specialists that sell nothing other than elements like The Element Man.

I would get an electrician to do the wiring, it's a high current connection which is somewhat hidden. If your not used to electrical stuff you could easily make a poor connection

If all are working but the oven fan and element aren't my first point of inspection will be to the wiring at the fan/ element, they are likely to share a looped neutral conductor and failure here (should be obvious) will prevent the fan spinning up and the element heating. This should be fairly accessible with the rear cover removed. Safely isolate before anything & if in doubt get someone to check.

Brian_Pamo- that CDA oven is very cheap budget brand, its a Beko in disguise made in the same place as Beko own , just slapped with different label on. If you want to repair it as it was suggested earlier -  take it out yourself ( very easy and takes seconds to take 2 screws out and slide it out ) and take it to an independent shop,  DO NOT call a repairman in, it will cost nearly as much as new one . If you want to save yourself hassle and buy new one - buy any cheap one ,Beko is not bad at all in that price bracket and easier to get parts than shop and kitchen fitters  own labels ( CDA being one of them  )  those try to hide the true maker and you can't get part numbers easily and change the appliance specs all the time so you can't really compare like for like with other manufacturers. If you want to plug it in  3 pin socket it should be max 3 KW ( as that is 13 Amp socket ) they also normally come with 3 pin plug already fitted , more than that should have it's own dedicated oven circuit and you normally hard wire those,  easy job but it's rented property so electrician would be needed.
