Fair or not fair?

I feel that's a different situation and I'm not sure I'd feel that was quite fair to you but if you were happy then great.northwalesd said:When I was single and used to holiday with friends of mine who were a couple I always paid half the cost of anywhere we stayed (that had a fixed price like a cottage).0 -
You're right, it is a different situation, and if anything less fair to me than to the person now trying to jib out of paying their fair share, but I was happy to do so (and would again).Beremy said:I feel that's a different situation and I'm not sure I'd feel that was quite fair to you but if you were happy then great.0 -
I was just going to say exactly that!i_want_to_believe said:I would cry off also, then suggest a 50/50 split between your husband and him, then, when he has paid up, change your mind and re-invite yourself!... Jobs a good 'un!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton1 -
Every other year we and two other couples go away together and split the cost three ways (each couple paying a third). We always have a big house with at least three double beds and three baths so it is not cheap. One year one couple pulled out . They still paid their full share. In fact they insisted.
IMHO, this is as it should be, as we had already paid the deposit for the house.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
