EE going back on promise for upgrade price
Hi, this is my first post so apologies if it's not the correct format.
I would like some advice and to know where I stand if anywhere in the following:
I am an EE mobile customer of 10 years, I'm also due an upgrade. Following MSE advice I attempted to negotiate to see if I can get a better deal considering the length of time I'd been with them (What's the harm in trying, right?!).
I was given plan prices, and these were the same prices quoted online in a sale that ended that day. As I was aware of the sale ending that day, I asked the sales advisor if the prices would change. This would enable me to know how much time I had to make a decision. I was told by the advisor the price I was told today was the price I'd pay, so take my time making a decision.
Feeling better that the price was safe, I slept on it, made a decision to go ahead with the upgrade and went online the next day to find the prices had all gone up by £5pm.
I have since spoke with EE and they acknowledge I was misinformed, they have stated they can only give me the prices available that day.
I feel that the original price I was offered should be honoured as I was told the price wouldn't change, but I'm not sure where I stand with this seeing as EE appear to be standing firm. £5pm may not be a lot to some but it adds up over a 24month contract.
Thank you.

Plans are only live on the system for a set time (sometimes as little as 24 hours). Once they've expired no one on the frontline has access to them so can't issue them.

Maybe the agent thought you meant would the price change over the life of the minimum term, hard to say with only one side.
If you knew a sale ended that day, you'd have to expect different prices the next day. Could be higher, could be lower.1
