I was thinking along the same lines, but are you not concerned that they may allow you to travel by then?Mazzle said:
Well I assume they will only allow travel if the FCO advice has changed and Mexico are accepting travelers which I doubt will happen by August? If they cancel then I will hold out for a refund or I'll accept the credit voucher if it's protected.clt1979 said:
so will you go if they allow or are you hoping they cancel and refund you?Mazzle said:We also have a holiday to Mexico booked for August. The same holiday next year is much more expensive so I am not going to amend it.0 -
If they are then I guess we'll have no option but to go as I'm not losing thousands of pounds. Next year we were planning on taking a different type of holiday and there would be another person travelling which is why we can't just amend trip. I also work in a school and don't know my return date next year yet. I'd be more concerned if I had just booked a flight.clt1979 said:

Think we will ride it out for now as well, just hope they don’t allow holidays to happen and still have a two week quarantine in place when we return. That would really screw things up.Mazzle said:

We have a paid up Tui family holiday to Majorca 15 Aug, that we booked & paid for before xmas.
We really don't know what to do?
Its 88 days away yet, that's a long time for things to change either way..
The FCO advice could still be in place? In which case done deal.
or it could be lifted but one or both countries could still have the 14days quarantine in place?
There could be no restrictions at all by then??
Gonna give it til mid/late July and see what the state of the world is by then I think..0 -
Only thing is, by that time we will be pot committed as can only amend for free until end of June with Tui. This may and probably will change by then, but who knows?misterbarlow said:We have a paid up Tui family holiday to Majorca 15 Aug, that we booked & paid for before xmas.

Yes this is my concern. We will have to wait and see what happens. I am not paying them more money to amend the holiday.clt1979 said:

Same, surly it will be cancelled. Scotland and Ireland are not even allowing schools to be fully opened until end of August/September.Mazzle said:

Probably but who knows at the moment. I just checked again and the prices next year for the same holiday (Mexico and similar hotel) are well over £1k difference in price. We can't afford that.clt1979 said:

We’re due to travel 18th June. The same hotel (which we spent a long time deciding on) is about 1k more expensive for the same time next year. We don’t want to pay that so holding out for a hopefully imminent cancellation email!0

You have over 2 months grace on us, surely yours will be cancelled.David_B_4 said:We’re due to travel 18th June.
