If so, I'd let them know what's happened, as within their credit files, the association still exists, and they would be able to remove that association with the click of a mouse in each of the CRA's. You mentioned previously that you have no associations showing on your side. Is that something you could investigate?0

You have to contact each CRA and request the disassociation. As long as you no longer have any joint financial commitment, they should remove the association.I would still be asking Lloyds to remove the hard search from your file!1

Double check your own CRA files to ensure that there's no connection, and ask you relative to do the same. It must be there somewhere on one of your accounts, otherwise the search wouldn't have happened (in theory). Once you find it - you can click to remove the association - it takes a few days usually for someone to action it - and then the situation shouldn't repeat itself in future.

You need to file what's known as a "Notice of Disassociation" separately with Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union (the three UK credit reference agencies).
Once they've confirmed from their records that you no longer hold any joint accounts, they'll "disconnect" (Disassociate) your credit files.
Your friend / relative will also need to do the same.1 -
Thanks for all the help, guys. I can see exactly what to do now, with your help. Problem on the way to being solved once and for all.0
