Hi,
I probably know the answer to this, but if you have several mystery shops on the same day, at different locations, do you tell the tax man about mileage from your home to each mystery shop, or from home to the first one, from the first to the second and so on?
I want to try to get on top of this tax thing asap as I've been mystery shopping since February but haven't needed to complete a self assessment form yet and don't want to have a stack of admin to do when that time comes around! All posts made are my own opinions and constitute neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Hi fellow mystery shoppers!
I'm a bit curious to see if there is a pattern to when the mystery shopping companies post the different types of jobs. I know that Gap usually start posting around the same date every month, and that they post different types of jobs at different times.
Do you think it would be worthwhile to start collecting some data on this (or has anyone done it already?)? I was thinking along the lines of the alerts thread, that we could post the date and approximate time that new jobs are posted, and what type of jobs. Then we could edit the first post to put it all together to see the big picture.
So it would be easy to look up a certain company, and to see at what times your preferred jobs are usually posted. This way you wouldn't have to keep looking at the alerts thread constantly, but you would know WHEN to start looking.
Any thoughts on this?0 -

If you want to follow the letter of the law, then you should just count your actual mileage. I know some people include it as all separate jobs from home and back.
You may "find", that you like to do it this way, so you don't get them muddled up - you go home and enter each report online and then go and do the next one. It's hard work remembering all those different descriptions, names etc., etc., isn't it?:D0 -
Thanks for that - you're so right too! (and that was the answer that I was hoping for!
)

I have just done my first MS assignment (GAP Burger one). It was quite exciting!
I have a question though. I submitted the questionnaire and got an automated email advising it has been received. Roughly how long will it be until I find out if it is accepted?
Hi all. MSTOPHAM - so glad you posted this - I apologise as I haven't got around to reading the rest of the thread yet - I'm impatient!! I did my first assignment with GAP on Thursday and then one on sat and burger one on Sunday - not heard anything back yet apart from e-mail received. I'm hoping no news is good news and they all get accepted. I'm on hols next week and I'm likely to get withdrawal symptoms whilst I'm away!!!
Also registered with TNS on Thursday - what the hell is it with the questionnaire!! Took me forever to fill it it. Haven't heard back from them so hoping I will as it took me that long to complete everything!!!
I'm off to try mysterycustomerevaluations now. Only been doing MS for about 2 weeks - what did I do before this!!!0 -
Hi all,
Just a quick question - I completed my first GAP assignment on Sunday (pizza) and filled out my questionnaire. I got an email yesterday morning asking me to clarify all my "no" answers - I would have done that on the questionnaire itself if there had been anywhere, but they asked me to email them back within 24 hours, which I have done. Is that usual? Is it maybe because it was my 1st assignment?
I had a Gapburger job for this morning but I cancelled it because I don't want them to mess me around with these jobs and not pay me (especially when I am not a big fast food fan!)
I am favouring RE more at the moment, I had an assignment with them on Friday night, filled it in when I got home and I have got the money showing on my account already (and it was there on Sunday)Proud meowmy of four fuzzy cats0
