Still waiting for first block of furlough funds

  • Thanks every so much. Have just been trying to find a link on which to report them. I am definitely taking action. I knew something wasn't right; too many changing accounts for the delay in money. My HMRC online tax account clearly states that those 4 amounts that have been quoted IS income that has already been paid in April and May. I would never have moved on, if I had not come on here, so thanks everybody.

Please for the benefit of others could you update if and when you hear anything back? Thankyou
Im up to nine payments on my accounts now and only received four of them in absolutely no date order of what is shown, no info and not one payslip.
Tough one for me as small company too many brown nosers and too obvious who will have reported them.
I’m riding it for now in the hope I will eventually get the payments owed.

  • Yes, I certainly will Dotty. Ive had automated acknowledgement that HMRC have received my report. Even if everything turns out to be 'all above board', the way this company has constantly moved the goalposts in my situation is unacceptable. This is people's livelihoods and mental health at stake here. I'm sick of their excuses. For either their misleading me and, no doubt, hundreds of others.

    Is it this company?

Your agency is responsible for the actions of their agents (the payroll company) under vicarious liability. So you should be getting a hold of your agency, providing them with the HMRC information and requiring them to sort it. If nothing happens, I would be tempted to let the HMRC know ASAP.

    • When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
    • "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere

  • I have emailed the agency and let the MD know the situation but I don't expect a response. Not sure on the vicarious liability issue: has he now washed his hands after I signed to become an employee of the Mickey Mouse Co, for furlough purposes.. I don't know. First thing Tuesday, I'm on the phone to HMRC to discuss what it means with having 4 consecutive weekly payments showing on my personal tax acct, from this company, for this tax year, when I've not even worked and certainly not received the furlough funds.

What was the date of the transfer from one to the other?

  • 23rd April and I signed a contact but get this: I sent an email to MD of supply agency yesterday, informing him that I was starting a complaint for suspected fraud by the outsourcing Co. This morning, my 'furlough' payslips have all disappeared from my employee portal, as well as contract employment date, changing from 23rd April to 3rd Feb, which was when they last processed my normal salary. Unfortunately for them, they have already submitted RTI to HMRC stating they have paid those payslips. So that proves they have said they were making a claim for me. Shocking behaviour all round. All info has now been sent via HMRC tax fraud link.

All it proves is your employer has submitted incorrect RTI data. RTI was used to assess eligibility for the scheme but it is not how a claim is made.
