Electrical warranty

My fridge freezer is less than 2 years old. (Purchased June 1st 2018) for the second time the freezer part has stopped working. First time it was under warranty and was fixed. This time they said it's out of warranty and wanted £125 to send someone out then cost of parts.
Or I could take out insurance with them at £12.42 a month. And it'll be fixed *free*.
When it was fixed they guaranteed the work for just 90 days.
Surely it should last longer than 2 years? It was £357 and I expected it to last.

You could take the consumer rights approach and have it inspected. If there's an inherent fault then the retailer (not the manufacturer) would have to act.0

Last time he changed the mother board thingy inside. He didn't say much else about it.
It was bought from AO and they said past a year they aren't responsible for it.0 -
They are if you can prove there's an inherent fault. That's why you need to get it inspected.Bello87 said:Last time he changed the mother board thingy inside. He didn't say much else about it.

Who do I get it inspected by, please? Or will the repair man do it when he comes?0

You want a report that you pay for from an independent engineer.Who is this repair man from ??0

He's being sent by Beko. Unsure if he's for them or they're outsourcing the job.0

Since the repair man is employed either directly or indirectly by Beko, he obviously can't provide an independent report.Bello87 said:He's being sent by Beko. Unsure if he's for them or they're outsourcing the job. Also, he's coming to fix the machine as a chargeable call-out which will make any subsequent inspection unlikely to find an inherent fault. If you are going down the report route, I'd cancel the repair call out until you've arranged an inspection.Something else to consider is that the cost of the repair is likely to be around half the price you paid brand new. Might it be better to cut your losses?1
