Quarantine threatens holiday plans

We've got an upcoming family trip booked to Tenerife, but, even if in theory it could go ahead, it's threatened by the two week return quarantine. What redress do I have in this case, if the flights and hotel are still made available by the provider, but we cannot in practice take the trip due to ongoing COVID quarantine measures.

I don't think anyone is sure yet what it means going forward. It's been discussed on here without any form of consensus.
When are you due to travel?

If the quarantine is still in place it will be cancelled ..
Current advice in the many similar threads is "wait and see " as nobody knowsEx forum ambassador

I'm not 100% sure they will be.Browntoa said:If the quarantine is still in place it will be cancelled ..
Some people will still want to go even it there is a quarantine
Also there is limit on how long travel companies can delay for without going bankrupt.

This is something we've discussed at work. For anyone home working it's less of a problem as they can quarantine and continue working. For those of us working from the office it poses a problem.0

Hi. I essentially have the same query as the OP. In my case, i've only so far paid £120 deposit for my Jet2 package holiday. Do I cancel now and lose the £120. Or do I pay the outstanding amount required by the end of June and risk losing the lot? Thanks0

If you don't pay the outstanding balance, you will lose your £120 deposit.
However, if you do pay the balance and Jet2 cancel the holiday, you will get all of your money back.
Edit: Sorry, just realised my post doesn't address the issue of quarantine!0 -
How much is the balance?AndyB46 said:Hi. I essentially have the same query as the OP. In my case, i've only so far paid £120 deposit for my Jet2 package holiday. Do I cancel now and lose the £120. Or do I pay the outstanding amount required by the end of June and risk losing the lot? Thanks

The question needs turned on its head.
Will the travel companies continue holidays in a bid to shaft the punters.
If decent options are not made available I guess all the goodwill just about holding firm with Jet2 & Tui will go down the drain.0 -
If your balance is due end of June then that means you dont travel until September?AndyB46 said:Hi. I essentially have the same query as the OP. Far too early to be worring about it yet, no chance this "quarantine" will last that long. Even if it does its only reviewed every 3 weeks so I would inagine package holiday companies will be doing rolling 3 weekly cancellations.0 -
There will be an element of holiday makers, whose circumstances will enable them to quarantine, with no issues. I wonder if the market will operate as normal for those who can agree to quarantine.
No kids, self employed eg.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
