Can a single garage conversion which would be approx 4 metres by 2.3 metres be okay to use as a snug/lounge room?

Wanting to make the rest of my downstairs open plan for multiple reasons and have a kitchen lounge diner but need somewhere to go when the washing machine is on or just to have a chill.

I'd say so, but why don't you put noisy appliances in the garage?  You could still convert it to use it as a room for when you want a smaller place to curl up but, if the rest of your downstairs is open plan, I'd put the appliances in there so you don't have to hide from them when you're otherwise happy to be in the main space.

Well it will also be nice to have a second downstairs lounge room if we want friends round and want to escape the other room etc.

Also to get plumbing in the garage it will cost quite a bit too.

I suppose it depends how much it would cost to get a washing machine plumbed into garage i guess.

You would need to check that the room is insulated. Some developers cut costs by not insulating beneath the ground slabs in integral garages.

Id be getting all that done properly as a proper conversion, the floors lower so needs raising and what not anyway.

I would hope that your garage is larger than 4mx2.3m as well. You would never get a car in that.

It will also be a very small room to become a lounge. It will be very narrow.

It's quite long and narrow so  by the time you have put a sofa  /chairs and coffee table etc it would be a very limited space

the garage is 5m x 2.5 but with insulation and some built in cupboards it will obviously be a bit smaller, like i say ill still have a kitchen/lounge/diner

itll be more of a snug or if the washers going etc.

is the garage attached to the kitchen? it wouldn't cost much at all to have your washing machine plumbed in there if thats the case. The biggest expense is the outlet, and as long as you can run into your outside outlet its cheap as chips, well cheaper then converting the garage into a room

I had my dishwasher put on a different wall to the sink, it was just a question of getting the angle of the waste pipe right. My last house I moved the sink to a different wall as well, once again it was getting the waste sorted that caused the headache, the indoor plumbing was easy

It is opposite the kitchen, there is a hallway in the middle so not attatched as such but integral to the house.
