    In The Olden Days, you took the aircleaner off your downdraught zenith or solex, grabbed the accelerator linkage to rev it up, and trickled the redex straight down the throat of the carb. 

    When you could see the street again, you let go, replaced the aircleaner and the engine was good for another 5000 miles or so.
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
