Still funny if you are old and think the 1990s were yesterday though ;)

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • Just googled it . . not worth the effort tbh

If you were 100 years old the 1990's would be like a few weeks ago.

1995 would still be 25 years ago. It'd just be a smaller proportion of your life, and therefore feel more recent.

I still watch TOTP 1980s and think I'm watching something only 5-10 years old ;-)
Last time I decoked a car engine was in the 1970s. I modded my Cortina to use a spare windscreen washer bottle, pump and pipe to inject Redex into the carb intake to give the engine a good clean whilst it was running at cruising speed. It also worked as a James Bond style smoke screen behind me which was good for evading the rozzers.

I caught a bit of TOTP 1989 last night. No.1 was Jive Bunny's remixes of 50s stuff.

    1989 was 31 years ago.
The same distance in time before 1989 was 1958...

1995 was a quarter of a century ago. Quarter of a century before that? 1970.

Scary, that was half way through my life to date as I was born in 1958.

Just shows how good the human mind is at telescoping the short-to-medium past, doesn't it?

I read that memories are not memories of the original event but just a memory of the last time you remembered something. Hence the reason for things becoming tainted, a bit like those copies of copies of tapes we used to make.
