I recently bought a shaver online from a company in China and the payment went through Shopify, due to the virus delivery was delayed and upon arrival the package was slightly battered but not enough to damage the goods. When the box was opened and the shaver charged up and tested it was evident that one of the shaver head seatings was damaged plus a trimmer did not work.
I found the firms contact was via email so took photos and duly sent them an email so they could see. No reply came so I tried again but just kept getting a message that the mail administratior rejected my emails. I tried without the photos and eventually got a strange reply in Chinese, then another with little writing just send the photo. I replied back to this with a photo but I just getting the email rejected message.
I've tried various methods plus other email addresses but still no reply. I am conscious of the time that is passing for reporting so I can get this resolved.
There is a phone number but my mobile operator charges 120p per minute and at that price who knows how long a call will last let alone if they speak English or could understand me. The shaver is around £50 in value but was bought as a gift. Any ideas or advice as to how I can get some action on this. Andy

Such are the risks of buying from overseas ... UK laws do not apply so you're tied to whatever the contractual T&Cs state and/or the consumer laws of China. For £50 it's probably best to just write it off as a bad experience, and vow to do more research in future regarding who you're buying from.0
