The lead goes from DAC to (in this case) my phone. It's a standard micro USB connector on each end but is non-reversible. Black end to DAC/grey end to phone. Lead is only 3 inches long and phone and lead sit in centre console of car. It gets very little movement - this product is designed to be used with a mobile phone which would normally get a lot more wear and tear if it was a pocket while you are walking around.

I've actually gone onto manufacturers website and sourced the cable (see screenshot). The lead is £5 + £5 delivery (which I don't intend to buy while product is under warranty). Richer Sounds have told me its £20 ex vat ex delivery. That has irritated me no end.

That looks like a USB C on one end and a micro USB on the other which is £10 + delivery from Cyrus.
You can get a generic one for £3.59 on ebay.

Nope. IT'S. MICRO. USB. Non reversible. I have the product. I've been using it for 5 months. Do you honestly think I've been somehow magically forcing a usb-c connector into a micro USB slot for 5 months?0

If you can supply a photo of the connectors end-on then it will all become clear. (In the photo the grey end does look like a USB-C plug. What phone do you have?)
It seems that there is a subtle difference between a normal USB cable and an OTG cable ... https://www.quora.com/How-different-is-a-normal-usb-cable-from-OTG-usb-cable0 -
Look at the bigger picture - how much is your time worth?sonicyouth said:I've actually gone onto manufacturers website and sourced the cable (see screenshot). The bigger picture really isn't an issue here. Why should I pay a third of the price of the unit for a lead that should still be under warranty?0
-
Does it say the lead is covered by warranty or is it classed as a consumable item?0

SFA didn't say that it was a USB-C connector, just that from the picture supplied, it looked like one and I agree. I would also say that one of those connectors looks like a USB-C.sonicyouth said:Nope. IT'S. MICRO. USB. Non reversible. I have the product. I've been using it for 5 months. Are you saying that both of these connectors are micro USB?, even the one with the clearly rounded sides and the seam in the middle on the left of the picture?
