Jet2holiday still going 25/6/20!!

hi does anyone even know if it’s possible for jet2 to make us go on this holiday to Gran Canaria on the 25th June 2020, they are still maintaining that all holidays will resume on the 17th June, I spoke to one of their employees the other day and she said if I cancel I will lose 70%of my £2400 I paid them or I can transfer to next year but no refund as all holidays are still going after 17th June!! Is this just a game of chicken they are playing to try and keep the money. Don’t wether to wait a couple of weeks and see if they cancel to get a refund, any advice would be appreciated

The answer as at now is Nobody knows!
If the UK and Spanish governments agree that it is safe to open borders and international flights resume then you will have a decision to make.
My opinion is that your holiday will be cancelled (about 10 days before due date) but I'm only guessing.0 -
I don’t know how they expect people to go to a place to enjoy with hardly anything open no common areas open in the hotels and how they are going to keep people apart at pools and restaurants inside0

You really need to address this question to Jet2.1

Well it might be ok early days as people like yourself who really do not want to go MIGHT make the hotels ,pool areas etc less crowded so workable .M1lo said:I don’t know how they expect people to go to a place to enjoy with hardly anything open no common areas open in the hotels and how they are going to keep people apart at pools and restaurants inside
If holidays really take off again and no vaccine has been found then holidays as we know them will be a thing of the past.0 -
They can't make you go, as in physically force you onto the flight.
As to whether they will cancel before then and your options if they don't - all still a wait and see at the moment. If you've already paid in full, you have nothing to lose by waiting to see if the holiday does indeed get cancelled after all.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
From what I've read, Jet2 have been pretty good at allowing people to change holiday dates, even outside the current cancelled holiday period. From a financial standpoint the best option is to wait in the hope and expectation that holiday will not go ahead. If you cancel voluntarily then Jet2 normal T&C will apply.

Spain is already opening up so by end of June everything should b open, all be it with lesser numbers due to social distancing.https://www.thesun.co.uk/travel/11673959/spain-beaches-coronavirus-sensors-booking-umbrellas-latest/M1lo said:I don’t know how they expect people to go to a place to enjoy with hardly anything open no common areas open in the hotels and how they are going to keep people apart at pools and restaurants inside
At present FCO guidance is not to travel so check your insurance policy ( I assume you did take one out) to see if you are covered if that guidance remains the same.0 -
If They fly and the hotel is open you have two choices Go or Don't go and lose your money.
If you are High risk group I would be losing the money (we already cancelled our trip in September - Already had Crete / Russia cancelled with full refunds)
If you are low risk group I would go and enjoy as much as possible.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
You ask how they're going to keep people apart like it's their problem - it's not, it's down to individuals to maintain distance.
It's the 'new normal' and we're going to have to get used to it for a long time yet.
As for making you go away, they're not - but I'd expect to have to pay to change the dates if they're operating as usual.0 -
The OP's question is academic now. Jet2 has announced it won't be flying before 1st July.
