I'll be honest I cant think of anything but two DOA motherboards.
I can see an RMA in my future0 -
MB compatible with the 3600 without an update?

So I got to the point there was nothing left and I did the paperclip test with the mobo attached.
PC came to life . Nothing else on the board as I wasnt risking GPU's/CPUs!
So I guess I build it up tomorrow and see if it outputs video and go from there?
Mobo has warning leds so might get some info from them.
With no onboard graphics I will have to put the graphics cards in.
So we shall see tomorrow.

The fact it only fires up with the PSU hot wired means something isnt right for sure.
Ill get into it tomorrow morning and see what I can get from it0 -
No video output detected.
On the board debug LEDs the CPU led is lit. Also the RAM RGB isnt lit. Never having had such amazing tech I have no idea if these RGBs are lit from power on or require boot.
Removed the jumper from the PSU and back to no boot.

Unbelievably back again. Never has a PC build took so long!
So ordered a completely different mobo. different make/chipset
Installed just the CPU,stock cooler and built it up outside the case. Nothing, no power.
Bridged the PSU and it fired up.
I can build the whole thing up with ram and GFX card and it runs as long as that PSU connector is bridged.
No error lights on the new motherboard DEBUG leds
So PSU gives power so Im wondering if its the CPU. Mighty fed up of this one.0 -
It could be the CPU, but that is extremely rare. The paper clip test only confirms the PSU isn't completely dead, it could still be the problem. Unless you have an older PC to test it on or a dedicated tester / multimeter.Ram is also a contender, have you tried 1 stick (assuming you have 2)Also what so you mean by "runs as long as that PSU connector is bridged"? What are you able to see, are you able to get into the UEFI?0

I get no video at all with everything plugged in and running eg GFX,CPU etc For the money Ive spent it would be nice to at least see a bios
I have an old PSU I have tried.
Im thinking it would be unlikely to have the same fault on 2 PSUs with one being brand new.
I have checked the new PSU on a multimeter and it gives the expected voltages with no load.
Ive ordered another CPU as Im at the point I just need the bloody thing to work. If the CPU doesnt fix it then I'll decide if Im going PSU or ram but I have brand new on both so its just seeing whats being returned.

Is your monitor and HDMI (or other cable), working, tried different cable types if possible?I assume you only have 1 GPU to test with?I have heard Ryzen can be a bit finicky with ram, I've only built one Ryzen system so far R5 2600X, but it was one of the easiest builds, didn't have any issues.0
