I'm guessing the poster keeps his own record of his o/time hours and compares that against his payslip.

Didn't sound like that.  Read as that they found out what overtime they were being paid by looking at the payslip not that they were checking it for accuracy.

My question wasn't clear enough.  I wondered how they would know they had been paid correctly if they used the payslip to inform them how many hours they would be paid for.

    Payday for me tomorrow

What Do you do on paybay? Any good habits to help manage money?
I move any income gained through the month (wages, interest, refunds, bonuses etc) into a separate (interest paying) account. Then on the first of the next month I dish out all the money to where it needs to be - direct debits/standing orders and savings. At the moment this months income pays for next month but I'm hoping to stretch this.

Have all DDs lined up for payday or day or 2 after. Balance to savings account
    Payday 20th. DD's 1st of month.

Just to make sure you are covered in case of any delays/system problems.

I'm paid on the last working day of the month and most bills get paid on the 1st. My standing order for my regular savings account goes out on the 1st month. I also have a lodger and she pays me on 27th of the month. Whatever my balance is in my current account on the 26th, I transfer that to a savings account on the 27th.

My accountant (Mrs RC) gets her ledger out, numbers are written down, and money is moved around. No one starves in the process, and the bills get paid.

The detail is a mystery to me. I just tell her the best accounts to put it in and it seems to work like clockwork  B)
