What an amazing result on the £2900 refund and well done on getting below £9k. Once the refund on the personal loan comes through too that will make a massive difference then you can start to think about your future as your husband sounds like a nightmare to live with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. So I'm going on my friend's hen do next weekend which I'm really looking forward to. It's also a night away in a hotel! It's been planned since November so I've been putting my £25 'wants' money each month and a bit extra from a sewing commission to cover the £150 cost so with the exception of drinks on the Saturday night it's currently all paid for. Best friend is staying over on the Friday night and we're heading down late morning on the Saturday, staying over in a hotel with an activity and evening meal included in the £150 cost then heading back up via lunch at her parent's the following day.
I am really looking forward to it. Husband hasn't lost his mind over it yet - as carefully managed telling him in December and reminding him the weekend just gone as well as organising lift sharing in friend's car so I can leave him my car for the weekend so all his usual 'kicking off' excuses (of not enough notice, no discussion, no consideration for his feelings/position etc) have been neutered. I mean he'll find something to nark about I'm sure but I'm going so that's that.Bottom line;

So my daughter's room is finished finished and she's having one of her BFFs
sleep over tonight. (First sleepover!) I've said I'll stop at Lidl on the way home and asked her what she wanted me to buy and she said "We're going to need /so many/ film snacks."
I've been going to the gym before work everyday for the past 4 weeks- (5.50am start!) but I've 'slept in' today until 7.15am just in case they ended up staying up until the early hours and I need some energy reserves!

First sleepover has gone OK. Child is going home in an hour and I have only had a few eye twitch moments. It's quite funny; my daughter is getting slightly exasperated with her friend (friend is quite chaotic and occasionally screechy) and clearly is looking forward to getting her own space back.

Daughter was wiped out for most of the day on Saturday. We went swimming yesterday morning as she was back to full energy again after a decent night's sleep.
Work has changed payday to the last working day of the month which is much better (I think last year because of the bank holiday we only got paid on May 4th which was a bit of a wait)
Going to buy daughter a new mattress for her new bed this morning- budgeted £40 for it.Bottom line;

Hen weekend was amazing. I bought myself a new pair of jeans and a top from Next to go on the weekend- first new outfit that I've bought for myself (rather than with birthday/christmas vouchers) for about 5 years.
Had so much fun with my friends. Husband is being vile upon return but I predicted that, it'll blow over in a few days.
At the end of this week it's the end of the 4 week time limit for the bank to contact me about them repaying the interest and charges on the remaining two accounts. I've already mentioned it to the financial ombudsman but they've said that we have to wait until the 4 week contact window has elapsed before we chase them. I'm still very exited to find out the figures they're going to repay- I'm trying not to overblow it in my head but this should hopefully shave my DMP right down.Bottom line;
