Been out to town with the kid this afternoon to spend our book vouchers. I've got myself Wolf Hall which has been on my amazon wish list for 18 months and she chose a Roald Dahl poetry anthology.
Wore my new rocket dog trainers, they are so comfortable.My last pair (now in the bin!) had cracked so many times on the sole that I avoided wearing them out if it was wet as i'd end up with sopping wet feet.
I'm going to buy her some new clothes once I get paid in February as she's had another growth spurt. Her current clothes will do until then given she's been bought three pairs of fleece leggings that are in her current size.Bottom line;

I am absolutely raging. I bought my husband a really thoughtful christmas present. When he found out about the debt in March 2018 he sold a bunch of his personal possessions to raise capital to repay my guarantor loan to free me up so I could start my DMP (as did I- I sold all of my hobby things then massively limited my enjoyment of my hobby because I couldn't do a specific amount of it anymore, I also sold the vast majority of my nice clothes (bought for me as christmas and birthday presents) and a lot of my favourite possessions on Ebay)
One of the things that he sold was one of his favourit hobby items to a friend who had long coveted it. I have heard about this repeatedly since in arguments; how I havent "fully acknowledged how much he sacrificed to help me" how "Ive made no steps to repair the damage I've caused"
So in a moment of inspiration (back in September when he wasn't being too bad) I saved up and bought it back off from our friend. Cost me a load (had to take on extra sewing to pay for it) but I thought it would be a really meaningful gift that showed how much I had reflected and was attempting to right wrongs. On Christmas day he didn't really react much when i gave it him and then later asked me to return it as we would need the money more. I thought this was just a gut reaction to being given something expensive when we're living so frugally (Like I did with the Jo Malone candle) and I reassured him it was long paid for with extra work and I really wanted him to own it again.
The big horrible thing he was predicting last weekend of course didn't happen, he's now hand waving about how he may have been wrong on the timing and it's most certainly going to happen in January instead (Again absolutely no evidence of this)
After moping around for most of the day he's now come and told me to ask our friend for the money back and return it as "it makes him too sad to look at it" as it's all apparently going to go wrong when the big horrible thing happens (TM) and we wont be able to have hobbies anymore as life will be so awful and horrible.
ALL I've god damn heard for the last year is how awful it was he had to sell it and how much he misses it. Now he's got it back it's now the basis of an argument that he DOES have it back and "how i dont listen to him"
I now realise that it was only ever a stick to beat me with. So screw it, I'll get the money back, it can go in MY savings and I'll stop trying to figure out how /I/ can fix things with him because he's so set on being such a sodding matyr.

Good onya girl. There won't be any pleasing him, so quit trying. The sooner you can break that chain around your neck, the better.I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing I could come over and give him a darn good boot up the know where. Take careEve xo5

I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy4 -
Went to Tesco yesterday and spent £50 on meat and main meal components, meaning for the latter January shops all i'll need from Aldi will be milk, butter and Veg which should keep each weekly shop under £12.

Such a good idea! I wish we had the freezer space to plan ahead like that. My dream is to have a chest freezer so I can plan and buy stuff in advance for months and then only need to buy fresh bits.1

Its frosty as hell here this morning and really thick low lying cloud. I'm hoping for snow. Need to get me and the kid dressed so we can run outside straight away if it does start.
We went Geocaching yesterday afternoon and found a really great one in the woods- it was full of stuff other finders had added so we added a piece of sea glass that was in my pocket from the beach last week.Bottom line;
