50% off Tesco Home Insurance

Tesco quote me £179.55 for contents only. Barclays is £138 pa but will send me a £60 cheque 28 days after receiving my full payment or first monthly premium.

I'd normally say there's nowt between the money grabbing banks and big supermarkets but in this case Barclays gets my vote as they'll save me £100!!

I think the Tesco wording says something like "50% reduction in the personal risk element of your quote"

I suspect that means that your not going to get 50% off the gross premium> My won quote was cheaper than my current provider but Tesco do not give you the option to specify a single item with a value in excess of £1500.

I found Barclays and Direct Deal(Via AIG) gave the best deal on my combined home and contents insurance. Went with Barclays because;

1)The website was great to navigate and make changes
2) They provided a telephone number that I got through on easily to discuss some specfic questions I had.
3) I could pay over 12 months at no extra charge.(Not the case with DD)
4) Unsure about DD??
