    DREADFUL, AVOID THIS COMPANY
    I also purchased a mobile phone from Tecobuy, which took ages to arrive, but did eventually. developed a fault within the warranty period.  No problem, I thought, since Tecobuy offer a UK-based warranty workshop on their web page.  Except they do not, and this is a lie.  TECOBUY INSIST THAT I SHIP THE PHONE BACK TO HONG KONG, AT MY EXPENSE.
    1. Shipping overseas is expensive, relative to the cost of repair;
    2. IT IS ILLEGAL to ship a used battery overseas.
    To return the phone, I would have to remove the battery from the battery myself, invalidating the warranty anyway.  So the next step, presumably, is that they would possess my phone, and would be able to demand what they like to carry out the repair and return shipment.
    This is clearly a deliberate strategy to avoid warranty claims.
    TECOBUY WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS

    Which doesn't include batteries in mobile phones, it explicitly states:

    Batteries, specifically new and used lithium batteries when not sent with or connected to an electronic device

    Better citation needed! That only proves that Royal Mail won't accept it. Lots of other stuff on that list which can obviously be transported by other methods.

    That says nothing about the legality of sending, as already pointed out it doesn't actually prohibit all batteries, plus the PO are a private company and can choose what they will/won't accept. Even if they did prohibit all batteries that still doesn't make it illegal to send.
