This seems like a good option, any opinions?
It looks decent. Dell make really nice laptops imo.
Generally it looks like a high spec laptop. That said, it's a struggle to find out what type of hard drive it has, and that makes me suspect it's not one of the faster SSDs. I think personally I'd look for something with an M.2 nVME drive at that price, it will feel a lot quicker.

I am a happy ESET NOD32 AV customer. I have been using it for years. It isn't free though...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job

+1 for NOD32. Been using it for 15+ years and its arguably the lightest AV Suite out there. Makes Malwarebytes Premium feel like bloatware.Willing2Learn said:I am a happy ESET NOD32 AV customer. I have been using it for years. It isn't free though...1 -
Don't believe everything you read. "So if you want maximum value for your money, you should get yourself Norton antivirus."Ciara.T said:I have read a detailed comparison where experts have put together this comprehensive Windows Defender versus Norton comparison to help you make a wise decision.
Alternatively, spend nothing and get adequate protection with Windows Defender.2 -
The 'wise' choice would be the free Windows Defender.....Yes, you can get a variety of paid AV that have some extra features, but, do you really need it.....I would venture NO.Ciara.T said:

If you only need to cover for anti-virus the laptop and that's it, Windows Defender is great and free, and already built in. As above malwarebytes free version can be run too, between the two you have enough protection for the average user.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Hi what is this comprised of please and what is the cost? I have been using Kapersky but my desktop has just been hacked and am now looking for some advice. 😣🤔Highland76 said:

Sorry to hear about this. Could you give some brief details to help others avoid this? Did the hack involve talking to somebody, was it by clicking on a link/opening email/etc or do you think it happened without you doing anything?Magenta said:I have been using Kapersky but my desktop has just been hacked and am now looking for some advice. 😣🤔

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the few negative reviews on Amazon for ESET - judging by their comments, probably those who don't know how to use a computer.Magenta said:

I suggest taking out a free 30 days trial first and see how you get on. The best thing about ESET is that you hardly ever know its running in the background (ie extremely light & unobtrusive). Totally opposite to Malwarebytes Premium which was a huge memory hog and killing my laptop battery very quickly.
