Hozelock, alternative cheaper products?

HI all,
I have a hozelock hoze which doesnt fit on my kitchen tap or external tap! What I think I need is this: https://www.hozelock.com/product/round-mixer-tap-connector/ . These are selling for about £14 on ebay! I was going to buy one and then noticed there are cheaper alternatives which fit Hozelock and are about half that price.
Does anyone have any experience of these? I wonder if the cheaper ones are inferior quality, or Hozelock charge a premium becuase of the brand.
Thanks

Buy it from Wickes for £8 rather than £14 on eBay.

No expert but I think Hozelock is a mix of both things, better quality than most but also able to charge extra due to being perceived as a market leader.

They are all much of a muchness, Ive used many combinations of different connectors  all from different companys and all  interchangeable. Oddly I find hozelock leaks the most!

Not a great way to attach a hose to anything, especially mixer taps, which areoften connected to flimsy stainless steel sinks that flex at the slightest extra strain. You'd be better getting an outdoor tap kit and finding a handy person to fit it, if you don't feel confident yourself altering whatever's there now..

I agree with Dave, They always leak, and often pop off and spray your kitchen while you are down the bottom of the garden wondering where the hose water pressure went.

Been there, got T shirt & spray washed kitchen more time than i can remember before even this old fool I fitted an outside tap

You say you have an external tap, normally they are threaded so you can screw on an adapter.
Can you post a photo of the tap?
    You can also buy these,

The Hozelock one looks like it has a plastic key on it? If so avoid, that will snap off PDQ.
I've got a random one that I bought from a hardwares shop and that works well. Sturdy and lasting.
Agree with the kitchen thing. And all the traipsing in and out to refix the attachment meant cleaning the floor as well as the sink/worksurfaces until I learned to put an old sheet on the floor between the back door and the kettle when I was gardening :)

    Here is the kitchen tap:

Here is the external 'tap'. Its actually the rising main. I use a spanner to get water from it. I know this is not ideal.

Ill also need an extension hose to get to the furthest bits of the garden. I assume such a thing exists.

Do not attach it to your kitchen tap.  As the others have said, you will have a wet floor and wet wall (I notice it is not even tiled) and dry garden plants.  Recipe for disaster.  I also have the t-shirt, freely available to idiots :)  I bought a 5 pack hose connector from £land and one of them works just fine on my external tap.  Use your outsidel tap.  I have lived in some "houses that Jack built" but have never seen a wrench used as a tap head.  They are fairly cheap, so add that to your basket as well.  Happy watering :)

When you think about it, there's nothing wrong with that set up :D its just a tap with a different top!  just push a hose on the outlet and do it up with a jubilee clip.
