Am I have been overcharget by solicitor?

Options
Hi everyone:)
i am buying my first flat.I have such a feeling that my solicitor ocercharged me. I understaind that could be some additional costs but the bill was 50% more than it had to be. Also I even would stand if they would do their job well. But they have done mistakes and my case was delayed twice. Its really first flat and I am not very experienced but want to ask what do you think?
i had to pay £816 but in the end it was £1200. Sample of for what I’ve been charget + added.

If you have a problem with the bill or service you can complain to the legal ombudsman. They will probably be able to justify the extra expenses though but it's worth a try.

It's usual for them to quote their fee plus expenses. Expenses are the searches they need to do, they all add up.

Probably better to ask on the House Buying board, but from a look at what you've posted (not sure if it came out correctly) it looks like there was some complication with previous alterations to the property so they're charging for the additional work spent on that. Which is fairly normal.
They should have sent you terms of business at the start of the transaction detailing how their charges would be comprised, and also details of their complaints procedure (which you'd have to go through before you could refer it to the ombudsman).

Solicitors are slippery characters when it comes to their bills and the extra is probably covered inthe small print.
You should complain to them within 1 month of receiving the bill and if not happy with the reply you can pay £45 to have th court look at the bill.

I don't know what that is that the OP has inserted in their post, but the spelling and grammar is terrible. If that is something from the solicitor then they should be sanctioned for such appalling use of the English language.

I think those bits are the queries from the OP.
