How many hours of court time must these vultures have wasted over the years?
Well done on your victory and seeing it through.

Yes, the amount of court time wasted over the years is unbearable to think about. Plus of course the number of default judgements entered by judges as defendants didn't put up a defence.

In this case, since the judge didn't want to address the issue of Abuse of Court process, it leaves Gladstones/PPCs to continue their unethical and unlawful antics to fleece unsuspecting people with incomplete and incorrect parking notices/claims. I will talk to all our family, friends and friends of friends and tell them all about this wonderful forum and the very expert, knowledgeable people that can help them - BUT they MUST ensure they don't just pay any Parking Charge Notice blindly without first checking its validity and correctness.

    Thanks again to everyone.

Good idea but also to be careful where they park, read the signs and comply with them, pay when required to and don't think that "I'll just be five minutes" works any more.

As promised here is the claim dismissal by the Court.
At the hearing the Judge had said gbp50-00 costs to be awarded but the Order states gbp80-00. I would think Gladstones will question this.
Also, I wonder if it is usual for solicitors to appeal. In this case because they couldn't provide the required document, maybe they have found it now and want to progress or file a new claim.

They CANNOT file a new claim - well, if they try you Apply (formally) for the claim to be struck out (Res Judicata) and you ask that the corut pays your FULL costs at £60 per hour becaue the claim has not been Allocated and the Claimant gets no costs protection.
I doubt they will be clever enough to appeal it on the grounds you said. It costs them more than £30 to do so.

Before Deputy District Judge Tear sitting at the County Court at Brentford, Alexandra Road, High Street, Brentford, TW8 OJJ.

Judge Tear tears their solicitor a new one!  She might have been reduced to tears? 😢 😃

No matter what the Judge might have said, £80 is what it says on the order.  I doubt they will query it. What evidence would they have that it was anything else?  The notes or recollection of a rent-a-mouth solicitor - who has just lost the case for them?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Thanks nosferatu1001, Umkomaas
Just checked with the Defendant, he received gbp50-00 from into his bank account from Gladstones Solicitors on 29-Jul-20.
I suspect he will get an amended order in due course correcting the gbp80-00 to gbp50-00.
